Compare airport locations
Compare codes, geography and time-zone identifiers for two airports. The calculator measures geographic separation, not flight time or ground-transfer feasibility.
Great-circle distance : ≈ 363 km
Distances are calculated between airport reference coordinates on a sphere of radius 6,371 km, rounded to the nearest kilometre. They are not road distances, flight lengths or evidence of a scheduled service. This selection is limited to airports in our reference.
| Airport | Venice Marco Polo Airport | Zurich Airport |
|---|---|---|
| Code | VCE / LIPZ | ZRH / LSZH |
| Location | Venice | Zurich |
| Country | Italy | Switzerland |
| Time zone | Europe/Rome | Europe/Zurich |
| Field elevation | 7 ft · ≈ 2 m | 1417 ft · ≈ 432 m |
Reading the time zone
Use the IANA identifier with the exact travel date. A fixed UTC offset is not reliable across daylight-saving changes or government decisions. Timetables normally show local times at each airport; compare complete dates as well as hours when crossing midnight or the international date line.
Geography: OurAirports, public domain. Names, codes and coordinates are reference data, not operational navigation information. Time-zone identifiers: IANA conventions.
Practical reading
- Airport codes and time zones: read an international itinerary
Avoid confusing city codes, airport identifiers, local dates and UTC weather timestamps.
- Terminal transfers: airside, landside and airport changes
A terminal change and an airport change involve different journeys.
- Separate tickets and self-transfer: the checks before booking
Compare the whole transfer process and recovery options, not only the advertised connection time.
